Many people can complete their own application. What they cannot easily do is see what is missing, because the gaps are in the things they did not know to include. This service is for people who have done the work themselves and want it checked before it is filed.
What you get
- A check that the correct forms and the correct versions of them have been used
- A completeness check against the document checklist that applies to your category
- A check for internal contradictions between your forms, your supporting documents and your history
- Identification of anything likely to prompt a request for further information or a refusal
- A written report listing what to fix, in order of importance
What this is not
This is a review of the package you have prepared. It is not full representation. You remain responsible for your own application, this office is not named as your representative, nothing is filed on your behalf, and the file is not monitored after you submit it. The scope is set out in the written service agreement before any work starts.
If the review shows that your application has little or no realistic prospect of success, you will be given that opinion in writing with the reasons for it. You are free to submit anyway. If you choose to, you will be asked to acknowledge the risk in writing. This is required by section 27 of the Code and it protects you as much as it protects this office.
If you want it handled instead
People often start with a review and decide part way through that they would rather have the application handled properly. That is a different service under a different agreement, and the review fee is credited against it.
