About this practice

This is a small, licensed Canadian immigration consulting practice. Files are handled personally rather than passed to unlicensed staff. That limits how many clients can be taken at once, which is deliberate.

Who regulates this practice

Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultants are licensed by the College of Immigration and Citizenship Consultants, a regulator established by federal statute. Under section 91 of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act, only licensed consultants, lawyers in good standing with a provincial law society, Quebec notaries, and certain Ontario paralegals may give immigration advice or representation for a fee.

You can and should verify any consultant before you pay them. The public register shows licence status, class, and any disciplinary history. The licence details for this practice are in the bar at the top of every page on this site, and the register link is in the footer.

How the work is done

• Nothing begins without a written agreement. A consultation runs under a written consultation agreement signed beforehand, and ongoing work runs under a separate service agreement that itemises the scope and the fee.
• If an application has little or no realistic prospect, you will be told so in writing, with reasons. You are free to proceed anyway, but not without knowing.
• Fees are quoted before work starts. Government fees are passed through at cost and are shown separately from professional fees.
• Your information is kept confidential indefinitely. That obligation is set out in the Code of Professional Conduct and it survives the end of the file.

What this practice does not do

This is a Class L2 licence. Matters before the Immigration and Refugee Board, which includes refugee claims, sponsorship and removal order appeals, admissibility hearings and detention reviews, require a Class L3 RCIC-IRB licence or a lawyer. Those matters are referred out rather than taken on.
