Privacy policy

This policy covers this website. Information you provide once you become a client is governed separately by the confidentiality obligation in section 28 of the Code of Professional Conduct, which applies indefinitely.

What is collected

• If you send a message through the contact form: your name, email address, the subject you selected, and your message.
• Standard web server logs, which include your IP address, browser type and the pages you requested.
• Cookies set by WordPress where required for the site to function.

The contact form does not accept file uploads and submissions are not stored in the website database. They are emailed and then held in the practice email system.

Why it is collected

To answer your enquiry, and to keep the site secure and working. Your information is not sold, and it is not shared with third parties for marketing.

How long it is kept

Enquiries that do not become files are kept for up to twelve months and then deleted. Client records are retained for the period required by the by-laws made under the College of Immigration and Citizenship Consultants Act.

Your rights

You may ask what personal information is held about you, ask for it to be corrected, and ask for it to be deleted where there is no legal or regulatory obligation to keep it. Use the contact details on this site. If you are in a jurisdiction with additional data protection rights, those rights are honoured.

Complaints

If you are not satisfied with how your information has been handled, you may complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada, or to your local data protection authority.
